Hugo let the current take us closer to shore and we stopped at a depth of fifty five feet. There was a fair amount of current so I dug the ends of my fins into the sand to anchor me. I was scanning the ocean bottom when Hugo pointed behind me. There was a bull shark swimming towards my back- I felt the rollercoaster plummet down the first drop.
Huatulco 2019
Huatulco is a beautiful coastal city with extremely friendly people and good inexpensive food. The beaches are beautiful but not always swimmable. There are a lot of beaches to explore. If you get tired of Huatulco there are a lot of little towns up down the coast to explore.
Bonaire 2019
I found a restaurant in town that had kegs of Belgium beer. I stopped in daily for my glass of real Belgium beer. It was very good.
Isla Mujeres 2019
My other favorite dive we did was the C58 wreck. We entered the wreck through an opening at the stern. A lot of the hull had been removed so it was light as we swam through the interior of the ship. We exited at the bow and there was a wall of fish hanging out on the wreck.
Sailing in the USVI and BVI 2019
Every time we dropped anchor I would put my fins and mask on and check that the anchor set properly and nothing was tangled in the chain.
Kauai 2018
This is a beautiful little town that was a short drive from the Westin. There were many good restaurants. It had a Foodland Grocery store. All of us Midwesterners were up early and getting coffee at the Foodland most every morning. Of course we also bought food and liquor there.
Playa del Carmen October 2018
I did the shark dive for the first time in 2013 and it was amazing but scary as hell. I decided to do it again this year.
San Salvador Bahamas 2018
On the way back we heard a commotion in the water. We turned around and the Club Med GOs were pushing a boat through the water. They were handing out rum punch. It was a nice surprise and we had never seen anything like this at the other Club Meds.
Playa del Carmen 2018
The food in Playa is almost as good as the diving. My wife and I love Italian food and Playa has a Little Italy.
Playa del Carmen 2017
My last say of diving was two shallow dives. We had resort divers and open water certifications. They were still good dives. On the first dive we saw a ray swim over the reef and within feet of us. They are usually more shy than that.
