Our first hike was Queens Garden and Navajo. The hike started with a steep descent. The majority of the hike was fairly flat but the hike ended with a series of switchbacks climbing up and out of the canyon.
Roatan 2017
I had a bucket list experience on the way to the Odyssey. A pod of dolphins joined us, and a couple other dive boats, on our trip to the dive site. They rode the wave at the bow of the boat and when we slowed down they darted between dive boats swimming on their side and looking up at us when they got close to the boat.
Turks and Caicos 2017
When we were here two years ago we had great diving. We saw sharks on every dive and many large grouper. The diving was fairly easy. We had to be at the dive shop by 7:30 am and we were usually back by noon or 1 pm.
Tulum, Playa and Mahahual 2016
I was at the dive shop by 5:30 for the night dive. I was diving with a German couple. The night dive was part of the advancaed open water certification for her.
Columbus Isle/San Salvador 2016
We didn’t know there was a tropical storm that closed the Miami airport, which we found odd because we had spectacular weather all week. We also found out that there were only two flights from Miami every week. Since our flight had been delayed the people that should be arriving to take our rooms would not be arriving.
Curacao 2015
One of the tourist draws in Willemstad is the Queen Emma bridge. It is a floating pedestrian bridge that spans St Anna bay. The bridge can be pulled to one side to allow boat traffic to pass. There are ferries that will shuttle you across the bay when the bridge is not in use.
Turks and Caicos 2015
We were surprised in a good way. Even though the resort was older and a little run down we would go back. If we didn’t stay at an all-inclusive the vacation would have cost us twice as much and wouldn’t have been nearly as easy. Club Med was just good enough for us
British Virgin Islands 2015
It was a full moon and every full moon the businesses at Trellis by have a full moon party. After sunset the four of us hopped in the little dingy and motored to Trellis Bay.
Tulum and Playa del Carmen 2014
I still like Playa. The beach, the restaurants, the bars and the diving, it’s all good. However, I have been to Playa enough times in the last several years that I think I need a change. I have dived all of the dive sites at least several times.
Las Vegas 2014
At this point I know my way around The Strip and I have a routine and favorite casinos. When I have time I will take the tram from the LVH all the way south to the MGM Grand and walk back along The Strip stopping for dinner and a little gambling.
