I loved the pig’s legs hanging throughout the Mercado. You could have them cut off slices of fresh jamon. I also like the sailfish head sticking out of the ice at one of the fish shops so much that I made Karen stand by it so I could take her picture. I’m sure the people that work there think the tourists are strange, taking pictures of the fish heads and pig’s legs
Playa del Carmen
When the waiter delivered our meal he pointed at the habanero peppers and said cuidado which literally translates to watch out. That made me worry. It was the hottest meal I’ve ever had. I had to drink three beers to keep the flames in my mouth at a tolerable level. Karen and I were sweating, our eyes were watering and our noses were running but it was the best meal we had in Playa.
Bahamas- Life on a sailboat
Unfortunately we didn’t bring food to give to the pigs so they checked us out then left us alone. Shane is braver than I am, he held out his hand and pretended that he had something to feed a large sow. She opened her mouth waiting for food to drop in and when none did she calmly walked away.
Play del Carmen and the Bull Shark Dive
Octavio had to fend off a shark with the fish bucket again. It swam directly at him and he used the bucket to keep the shark away. It retreated but did not appear to be happy with Octavio.
Isla Mujeres
Once three minutes had elapsed Karen and Rudolfo let go of the rope and the current shot them toward the boat. I was next but I had a hard time seeing if Karen had cleared the ladder because every time I exhaled, a blast of air bubbles that normally would rise harmlessly to the surface, instead would travel vertically toward the boat creating a whiteout. I had to time my breaths to see when Karen made it into the boat. Once she did I let go of the rope and jetted to the ladder. I grabbed the ladder, took off my fins and climbed into the boat.
Sorrento Italy
The grotto is a domed cave so once we were in we could sit back up in the boat. It was dark except for the light filtering through the water at the entrance. It that caused the water in the grotto to fluoresce an amazing color of blue that I am sure only exists in that grotto. It was very beautiful, for added effect our boat captain sang Solo Mio. I could have lived without it but when in Italy…
Playa Del Carmen 2012
We approached the boat from the bow, swam along the starboard side and entered the wreck from the stern. We swam through twice. There were thousands of tiny fish taking cover inside the wreck. After we swam through the second time we approached the bow of the boat. There was a large sea turtle eating sponges on top of the cabin of the boat.
Cancun 2012
We made our way from the C40 to an airplane wreck that was a little ways away. All that was left of the airplane was part of a wing. On the way to the airplane we came across a large eagle ray feeding in the sand. We also saw a large green, a smaller eel and many fish.
Las Vegas 2012
Even if the room wasn’t a suite it was still nice. It had the signature red wallpaper and dark furniture. The bathroom had the standard HRH black tile and very dim lighting. Wifi was included, or should I say, paid for in the resort fee. The nice thing about being in the Paradise tower, rather than the suites tower, was it was close to the meeting room.
Winter Park 2012
After lunch we stayed on Mary Jane. We skied Roundhouse a lot. I’m not a really good mogul skier but the bumps at the bottom of Roundhouse were perfect for me. We made our way back to Winter Park base by the end of the day.
